Introduction

Resources Development Centre (RDC) is a department that functions as a service centre to provide educational resources for training departments in preparing the learner for lifelong learning. The primary emphasis of RDC will be on the:

  • General Studies and German A-Level Preparatory Programme
  • Teacher Education and Development
  • Curriculum Design and Development
  • Quality Assurance
  • Management of Information System

General Studies and GAPP

The General Studies and German A-Level Preparatory Program section offers complementary subjects for Industrial Diploma programmes. The German A-Level preparatory programme is offered for students to continue their studies in the Universities of Applied Sciences, Germany.

Teacher Education and Development

Teacher Education & Development section offers teacher education courses for initial teacher training, in-service teacher training and customised pedagogy courses for industry training personnel (train the trainer).The main approach for the teacher training courses is self-reliant learning with action oriented teaching.

Curriculum Design and Development

The Curriculum and Instructional Learning section provides the expertise in developing technical education and training programs that are industrial oriented. Amongst the services offered are training needs analysis, development of occupational profile, curriculum design and development, and curriculum review and improvement.

Quality Assurance

The quality of teaching, learning and training of GMI programs is being monitored and coordinated by Quality Assurance section. The main areas of concentration are obtaining Malaysian Qualification Agency accreditation, maintaining quality standards, student final year project evaluation and examination and effectiveness of teaching and learning.

Management of Information System

The Management of Information System section provides the support and facilities for users to access information via Intranet, Internet, e-mail and e-learning. The security and management of information is being managed and updated constantly so that users are able to capture and share knowledge in fostering self-reliant learning.
