Strategically located on the ground floor of Kompleks Teknologi 1 – adjacent to the Production Technology Department and en route from the main entrance of GMI to Industrial Electronics Department, the GMI library braces the Institute’s mission as a caring community of learning, by assuming the role of an information centre for both supplementary and complementary information.

The ease with which information can be accessed at the Library, verifies it as the platform for obtaining needed to support and meet the demands of learning, teaching, research and curriculum development.  In view of that, required information is presented in a variety of formats attainable through a user-friendly, speedy competent and efficient system.

In keeping with this mission, the Library continuously develops, monitors and evaluates its services to match changing information needs in higher education to enable patrons to utilize effectively the full range of information services; to foster the acquisition of skills necessary for independence in lifelong learning and to facilitate cooperation and collaboration.

Equipped with Winnebago Spectrum, GMI Library patrons are guaranteed the ability to access collection through OPAC for fast, accurate and efficient searches. There are more than 24,000 up-to-date titles in the Library collection; 70% being technical-based.  The collection includes books, periodicals, AV materials, CD-ROM and students’ final year project documentations. 

Within its 1,044 sq meter area, the Library is able to accommodate 300 patrons at any single time.  Among other facilities are seven discussion rooms, thirty internet stations and Wi-fi coverage.
