Programme Brief

Electronics & Information Technology programme equips students with a profound knowledge and skills of electronic circuits and systems knowledge of telecommunications and computer controlled systems needed to meet the 21 st century industrial demands . The student will be able to design and build electronic and computer based systems and thus, preparing them for work in the high-tech industry.

Students will acquire more in-depth knowledge and practical application of microprocessor, interface design, micro controller systems, local area network, radio frequency (RF), telecommunication system, data communications system and network administration. In addition, the programme also integrates communicative and thinking skills, project management, entrepreneurship, learning and interpersonal skills so that the students are prepared to face the rapid changes of IT technology.

Produce graduates who are able to: 


PEO 1: Develop technical, social and learning competence, enterprising abilities and employable towards the requirements of job competency
PEO 2 :Solve problems analytically pertaining to industrial standards and requirements.
PEO 3: Inculcate leadership, ethical, entrepreneurship and professional qualities towards the development of the knowledgeable human capital for high income economy
PEO 4 :Acquire multitude attributes (versatile, knowledgeable, innovative, creative) for lifelong learning and working in teams the knowledgeable human capital for high income economy
PEO 5: Adapt to changes in the advancement of technology, work organization and industrial trends.

At the end of this programme, students will be able to:


PLO 1: Apply knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals and engineering specialisation principles to well – defined practical procedures and practices.

PLO 2: Analyse well-defined engineering problems in their discipline or area of specialisation.

PLO 3: Formulate solutions to well-defined technical problems

PLO 4 :Assist in formulation of systems, components or processes to meet specified needs.

PLO 5 :Conduct investigations of well-defined problems
PLO 6: Apply appropriate techniques, resources and engineering tools to well-defined engineering activities, with an awareness of their limitation.

PLO 7 :Demonstrate an awareness of and consideration for societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and their consequent responsibilities
PLO 8: Communicate effectively with the engineering community and society at large
PLO 9: Function effectively in a diverse technical team
PLO 10 :Demonstrate an understanding of professional ethics, responsibilities and norms of engineering technology practices
PLO 11: Demonstrate an awareness of management, business practices and entrepreneurship
PLO 12 :Demonstrate an understanding of the impact of engineering practices, taking into account the need for sustainable development
