Facilities & Building Automation

  • Programme Brief
  • Core Study Area
  • Job Opportunity
This programme will give a broad introduction to Building Automation System (BAS) in the scope of facilities and smart building that takes all aspects of the building (control system for HVAC, security, access control, surveillance, lighting etc) and occupant needs into consideration to maximize energy efficiency and convenient and make management of the facilities simpler, safe & secured. This practical oriented programme is designed to equip the graduates with skills to perform building utilities installation and maintenance activities including digital controls, sensing and measurement, actuation, analog output devices, and relays. Data communication protocol for building automation and control network is discussed including web interfaces, field devices, Human Machine Interface (HMI) to a wide variety of equipment types from individual subsystem to fully integrated intelligent building. Facilities and building automation technologist requires competencies in BAS design and specification, energy conservation control strategies, system maintenance, current and future trends in building automation technology.
