The programme focuses on the aspects of the design and development of plastic injection mould in which the students will learn to utilize injection moulding equipment to manufacture high quality plastic products. In the design aspect, the students will use their creativity to develop mould designs for production environments which require them to be detail oriented and have an interest in machines and mechanical processes. Computer-aided design (CAD) software and technologies are used to create plastic mould designs used in the manufacturing. As for manufacturing of the tooling for production, the students will learn moulding machine operation, tool change skill, injection moulding process development, and auxiliary equipment operation. This programme will provide the students the opportunity to use modern manufacturing techniques including Computer Assisted Manufacturing (CAM) software. This will enhance the student’s ability to produce accurate work on CNC equipment found in modern metal and plastics industries. The students also been exposed for advanced non-traditional machining skill and programming which allow them to develop their skill and knowledge before entering the actual job area. Graduates from this programme are prepared to immediately enter the industry as designers working on new mould tooling projects and are also able to plan, monitor and control the production activities with the relevant planning tools. One of most important in this are skill, the demand for local workers are keep increasing. The graduates from this area are most welcome in the various industry or technical field which capable the graduates demand better salary for their carrier and development.

At the end of this programme, students will be able to:
