The programme covers the whole spectrum of sheet metal product development which includes product conceptualization, visualization, product design, prototyping, engineering analysis, product fabrication, finishing and assembly using specific software and advanced manufacturing processes. Sheet metal fabricators design and create products for various industries, including automotive, medical, food, shipbuilding and construction. In this programme, students will develop core competencies in the fabrication method and the design & development of the sheet metal product to develop a complete set of metal-working skills. Training is accomplished with state-of-the-art equipment, including Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machines such as CNC 2D Laser Cutting Machine, CNC 3D Laser Cutting Machine, CNC Press Brake Machine, CNC Turret Punching Machine, CNC Abrasive Waterjet Cutting Machine, etc. for which students will be taught theoretically on the technology and practically on CNC program generation and machine handling operation. During the final year study, the students will fabricate projects from the ground up, applying theory and practice together with communications skills, lean manufacturing practices and quality applications used in today’s advanced manufacturing companies.
