COVID-19: CHANGES IN ACADEMIC CALENDAR DUE TO MOVEMENT CONTROL ORDER (MCO)

A. Students of Academic Session October 2019 – March 2020

  1. Status: Completed classes but pending Final Examination due to MCO.
  2. Alternative Final Examination is scheduled from 13/4/2020 to 30/4/2020. Details will be released by respective Training Departments.
  3. Students are given extended Semester Break until 12/7/2020.
  4. Semester 4 (going 5) students shall undergo In-Plant Training starting 13/7/2020.
  5. All other students to return for new semester on 13/7/2020.
  6. Students will be informed of any updates via respective Training Departments.

B. Students of Academic Session January – June 2020

  1. Status: Classes stopped at Training Week 9 and followed by 4 weeks MCO.
  2. All classes shall resume on 15/4/2020, via virtual learning approach. Details will be released by respective Training Departments.
  3. Current Semester 5 students undergoing In-Plant Training shall resume training according to their respective company’s instruction.
  4. Final Examination is rescheduled to 29/6/2020 – 10/7/2020.
  5. All students to return for new semester on 3/8/2020.
  6. Students will be informed of any updates via respective Training Departments.

C. New Students of April 2020 Intake

  1. Registration for new students of April 2020 Intake is postponed to 6/7/2020, joining the July 2020 Intake.
  2. All offered candidates will be issued a new offer letter via email in stages.

D. GAPP Students

GAPP 2018

  1. Status: All scheduled departure of G18 to Germany in March is currently postponed due to the current pandemic situation.
  2. As of now, there are only two (2) possibilities:
    1. Students to arrive in Germany in September or October 2020 and sit for TestDaf in February 2021.
    1. Students to arrive in Germany in October or November 2020 and sit for TestDaf in April or June 2021.
  3. Students will be informed of any updates via PGS Office.

GAPP 2019

  1. Status: Cambridge International Examination (CIE) decided not to hold examinations in May/June 2020 due to pandemic Covid-19 spreads all over the world.
  2. They suggest two (2) choices for schools (GMI) to decide;
    1. To award grade to candidates in May/June 2020. The decision on grades to be awarded to candidates will be made by CIE, using their own evidence combined with evidence from schools (GMI). CIE will provide further guidelines on 7/4/2020.
    1. Schools (GMI) can withdraw some or all entries from the June 2020 series and then enter these candidates in a later series such as November 2020.
  3. Students will be informed of any updates via PGS Office.
