Kajang, 03 April 2024 – The Anti-Bribery Management System (ABMS) stands as a vital framework for corporations, enabling them to prevent, detect, and respond to incidents of bribery within their operations, partnerships, and business affiliations. This initiative is dedicated to establishing robust controls and contingency measures aimed at mitigating bribery risks stemming from any weaknesses within the Institute’s governance framework, processes, and procedures, all of which are aligned with the TRUST principles.
The external audit exercise for ISO 37001 ABMS took place in 2 stages, with details as follows:
- Stage 1 – Document / Readiness Review
Audit Date – 6th March 2024 involving IGU members.
- Stage 2 – Certification Audit
Audit Date – within 6 months from the 1st Stage Audit.
Following a year of dedicated efforts in developing comprehensive documentation covering various aspects including Human Resources, Procurement & Finance, Academic & Operation, and Administration, within the scope of Provision of Technical Education and Training, GMI achieved a significant milestone. NIOSHCert, a leading national certification body accredited by Standards Malaysia, has recommended GMI for the ISO 37001:2016 Anti-Bribery Management System certification. This achievement was realized with zero Major & Minor Non- Conformance and only one Opportunity for Improvement identified during the Stage 2 audit.
03 April 2024, in the closing meeting, CEO of GMI, Tuan Hj. Solihin Yusoff announced, “I am extremely proud to share this good news that GMI is recommended for certification by NIOSHCERT to have completed and certified with Anti Bribery Management System ABMS in accordance to the ISO 37001-2016 requirement scope”.
It is even more significant to note that the findings are of zero major non-conformance, zero minor non-conformance, with only 1 opportunity of improvement.
