Kajang, 8 August 2025 – In a significant stride toward international academic collaboration, GMI welcomed a delegation from FH Münster University of Applied Sciences, Germany, from 4 to 8 August 2025. The working visit, led by Mr. Carsten Schröder, Vice President of FH Münster, focused on forging strategic partnerships in higher education and technical training, particularly in the fields of computer science and engineering technology.

Also in attendance were Mr. Rolf Laakmann (Team International Projects), Prof. Dr. Patrick Stalljohann (Dean Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science), Prof. Dr. Eckhard Finke (International Coordinator Department of Mechanical Engineering), and Ms. Eleonora Melchior.
During the opening session, Tuan Haji Ahmad Solihin bin Mohamed Yusoff, CEO of GMI, highlighted GMI’s industry-focused curriculum and state-of-the-art training facilities, setting the stage for productive collaboration discussions.
Further discussions with GMI’s team focused on exploring the development of joint degree programmes, student mobility programmes, and joint research ventures. These efforts align with both institutions’ commitment to advancing global education standards and equipping students with industry-relevant skills. This collaboration not only expands academic opportunities but also strengthens Malaysia-Germany ties in technical education.
GMI’s expertise in hands-on, industry-driven training complements FH Münster’s strengths in applied sciences and innovation, creating synergies for future collaborative projects.
