Kajang, 28 April 2026 – IBM Malaysia, led by its Leader of CSR (Vietnam & Malaysia), Mr Gajendran Karunanithi, visited the German-Malaysian Institute (GMI). The visit formed part of the Alumni German-Malaysian Institute Council (AGMC) industry linkages programme.
During the visit, the delegation toured two Advanced Technology Centres in GMI, including the Cyber Battlefield Centre, Artificial Intelligence and Internet of Things (AIoT) lab, and Additiv Zentrum (3D Printing Lab). These tours demonstrated GMI’s practical training capabilities and real-world simulation environments.
The two organisations explored six key areas for potential collaboration such as the IBM SkillsBuild Programme that delivers short courses and structured training programmes for both current students and alumni, professional certifications, research collaboration, student internship and academician industry attachment, Final Year Project (FYP) collaboration, as well as student sponsorship.
This strategic engagement between IBM Malaysia and GMI strengthens industry-academia linkages and accelerates talent development in emerging technologies across Malaysia.
