For time being, financial assistance is only provided to Malaysian students.
Students are only allowed to have one (1) education loan or scholarship from any sponsors at one time during their study period. Please be reminded, education loan and scholarship are two (2) different category of sponsorship.
Any education loan or scholarship is subjected to sponsors’ requirement and criteria. Any approvals on students’ education loan or scholarship are solely under the sponsor’s jurisdiction and authority.
GMI does not have any authority to approve or guarantee any education loan applied by students.

Initial Higher Education Assistance (Bantuan Awal IPT)
This one-off assistance is provided to students born in Pahang who are pursuing full-time studies at the Diploma, Master’s, or PhD level, either locally or abroad.
Diploma Level – RM 700 (one-off payment)
Educational Assistance (Dermasiswa) for IPT/Pondok Students
This financial assistance is provided to students who were born in Pahang and are currently pursuing their studies at public higher education institutions (IPTA/IPTS) or registered religious schools (pondok) within Malaysia. Only applicants with the latest academic results are eligible to apply.

Education Assistance for Admission to Higher Learning Institutions (IPT)
This is a one-off financial assistance provided to support the commencement of studies at local higher learning institutions for Foundation, Diploma, and Degree levels. It is specifically targeted at asnaf groups, including the poor (fakir), the needy (miskin), and those striving in the path of Allah (fisabilillah), with a household income that does not exceed the had kifayah (minimum subsistence level).
Diploma Level – RM 2000 (one-off payment)
Education Assistance for Higher Education (Fisabilillah Category)
This is a one-off financial aid provided to support the initial expenses of pursuing higher education at local institutions of higher learning (IPT) at the Foundation, Diploma, or Bachelor’s Degree levels. The assistance is specifically for asnaf under the Fisabilillah category, whose Head of Household (HoH) income exceeds the kifayah limit but does not exceed RM10,000.00.

• RM1,700 for students whose parents’ income exceeds the Had Kifayah threshold up to RM3,500
• RM1,000 for students whose parents’ income is between RM3,501 and RM10,000

Initial Education Assistance
For Asnaf Miskin & Fisabilillah (Eligible Zakat Recipients)
Eligibility Criteria:
a) Applicant and Parents/Guardians:
Must be citizens of Terengganu residing in the state for at least one (1) year before pursuing further studies;
OR
Must be permanent residents of Terengganu for at least three (3) consecutive years before pursuing further studies.
b) The assistance is managed under the Education Unit of MAIDAM.
c) Only new students with an official offer to pursue studies are eligible, and applications must be submitted within three (3) months from the date of registration.
d) The levels of study eligible for consideration include:
Certificate / Pre-Diploma / Foundation / Matriculation,
Diploma,
Bachelor’s Degree,
Master’s Degree, and
Doctor of Philosophy (PhD).
Note: Assistance is provided only once per level of study, in ascending order.
e) Fields of study related to the entertainment industry are not eligible.
f) The applicant must:
Have been accepted into a higher education institution either in Malaysia or abroad;
OR
Have enrolled in local skills training institutions, even if the institution is not recognized by the Public Service Department (JPA).
g) The study period must be not less than six (6) months.
Priority will be given to full-time studies, although part-time programs may also be considered.
h) Applications will not be considered if the applicant’s parents or guardians working in Terengganu do not fully pay zakat to the Terengganu Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council (MAIDAM).
Educational Assistance for Asnaf Miskin & Fisabilillah
This assistance follows the same criteria as the Initial Study Assistance, with the additional condition that the combined gross monthly income of the student’s parents does not exceed RM20,000 for both local and overseas studies.
Specific Criteria:
Asnaf Miskin:
Assistance is provided to students who are self-funded or receiving study loans (e.g., PTPTN) or sponsorships from other agencies, regardless of their Grade Point Average (GPA).
Asnaf Fisabilillah:
Assistance is provided to students who are self-funded or receiving study loans (e.g., PTPTN) or sponsorships from other agencies, provided that they achieve a GPA of 3.0 or above in the first semester of the current academic year.
Bantuan Pendaftaran IPT Majlis Agama Islam Johor
- Malaysian citizen and of the Islamic faith.
- Born in Johor and currently residing in the state of Johor.
- Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
- Must have received an offer letter from a local
- Higher Education Institution.
- Per capita income must not exceed RM800 per dependent, including the head of the household.
- Eligible Study Levels:
- Certificate, Diploma, and Bachelor’s Degree (First Semester Only)
Applications are open all year round.
Diploma – One-off RM1,000 assistance for students who have received an offer from any public (IPTA) or private (IPTS) higher education institution.
