Diploma of Mechanical Engineering Technology (CNC Precision)

- Overview
Diploma in CNC Precision Technology
The Diploma in CNC Precision Technology (CPT) program emphasizes fundamental knowledge and skills in Computer Numerical Control (CNC) precision machining technologies and processes. The program covers various applications of CNC precision machining, including CNC milling 2 & 3 axis, CNC milling 5 axis, CNC turning, and CNC grinding, as well as the concept of CNC machining and machine setup.
Computer Software Programs
Computer software programs like CATIA and Powermill will be utilized for designing parts and creating programs to operate the CNC machines for production runs and job set-ups in a manufacturing environment. Students will demonstrate an understanding of fundamental manufacturing methods, industrial processes, safe equipment use, and common programming codes and program format. They will also gain practical experience using full-size CNC machines for real production runs and job set-ups in the technologically-advanced era.
Upon completion of the program, graduates will be capable of applying CNC precision machining processes for precision engineering production, including selecting suitable machining processes, tools, and parameters for CNC precision machining. They will be well-prepared for employment in large manufacturing corporations and small precision machining companies in industries such as automotive, aviation, military defense, aerospace, and other advanced manufacturing facilities. Graduates may also pursue further education in industrial technology, engineering, or business programs leading to management positions.
