Kajang, 22 May 2025 – A delegation of Brunei Cybersecurity Association (BCSA) visited the German-Malaysian Institute (GMI) for an academic and professional exchange initiative programme. The visiting team, comprising lecturers and students from leading Bruneian universities, pursued three key objectives:
- Promoting knowledge exchange on cybersecurity best practices between GMI and Bruneian institutions.
- Enhancing technical competencies through hands-on lab sessions and academic discussions.
- Exploring collaborative opportunities in research, training, and technological innovation.
Tour of GMI’s Advance Technology Centres
The delegates explored key Advanced Technology Centre across two departments:
Electrical Engineering Department (EED):
- Autotronics New Energy Vehicle Centre
- Festo Pneumatics Technology Lab
Computer & Information Department (CID):
- Mini Cinema
- Cisco Networking Lab
- Cyber Schlachtfeld (Cyber Security)
These facilities demonstrated GMI’s commitment to industry-aligned technical education and advanced learning methodologies.
Building Future Partnerships
This visit is expected to pave the way for future collaborations, including joint research initiatives, students exchange programmes, and cross-border cybersecurity initiatives. Both institutions expressed strong commitment to developing regional cybersecurity talent for the digital economy era.
