Kajang, 27 January 2026 – A delegation of six researchers from the Leading Edge Non-Destructive Testing Technology (LENDT), Malaysian Nuclear Agency, visited the German-Malaysian Institute (GMI). Dr. Ilham Mukhriz bin Zainal Abidin, Manager of LENDT, led the team.
The visit focused on exploring a strategic partnership to transform Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) through the integration of Fourth Industrial Revolution (IR 4.0) technologies including:
- Artificial Intelligence (AI)
- Big Data Analytics
- Internet of Things (IoT)
- Augmented Reality (AR)
- Virtual Reality (VR)
- Digital Twins and Automation
Further conversations covered the development of joint training programmes and applied research, aiming to strengthen academia-industry links and cultivate industry-ready technical talent.
The delegation toured GMI’s Advanced Technology Centres to observe hands-on training environments and emerging technologies, including Cyber Schlachtfeld (Cyber Battlefield Centre), KUKA Industrial Robot Lab, Hybrid & EV System Lab, Welding Workshop, Solar Photovoltaic Lab, and DCS 2 (Emerson) Lab.
GMI looking forward to future collaborative endeavours in pioneering next-generation NDT solutions.
