On October 18, 2024, German-Malaysian Institute (GMI) is honoured to welcome ASTRO PAGI for an on-site broadcast, diving deep into the world of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in Malaysia, particularly in light of the Budget 2025.
Tuan Haji Ahmad Solihin bin Mohamed Yusoff, CEO of GMI, kicked off the show by sharing insights on the importance for TVET programmes to align closely with industry demands to ensure that graduates are equipped with the relevant skills and ready to thrive in a competitive labour market. The second segment was particularly engaging, featuring Dr. Mohd Faizal bin Tokeran, Head of the TVET National Council Secretariat and Mr. Azizullah bin Mohd Rapini, a GMI alumnus and Director of Fester Automation Sdn. Bhd who further discussed the current job market for TVET graduates, highlighting attractive salary offerings that make this field appealing for students.


In conjunction with the Budget 2025 announcement, the discussion also explored how increased funding could transform the TVET landscape. The focus was on strengthening industry partnerships, expanding training programs, and enhancing facilities.
