Kajang, 14 August 2025 – GMI and Bubbles O2 Sdn Bhd (BOSB) have formalised a strategic industry-academia partnership through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) exchange ceremony. The event was witnessed by the Director-General of Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA). This collaboration is designed to enhance Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) and elevate graduate readiness for the industrial workforce.
A cornerstone of this partnership is a RM70,000 educational grant from BOSB, dedicated to funding final-year projects for students from the Mechanical Engineering Department (MED), Electrical Engineering Department (EED), and Computer & Information Department. Furthermore, BOSB will sponsor the patenting process for commercially viable student projects and provide rewards for the best students-created animation advertisements with commercial potential.

This comprehensive collaboration focuses on five key areas:
- Curriculum Development – Enhancing GMI’s curriculum in cutting-edge technologies, including Process Instrumentation & Control, Plastic Injection Moulding, Metal Stamping, and Precision Machining, to ensure alignment with current industry demands.
- Digital Transformation and Innovation – Collaborating on technical expertise to develop digital Standard Operating Procedures using Virtual Reality (VR) and Artificial Intelligence (AI), and pursuing joint research and development projects with strong intellectual property potential.
- Technical and Skills Training – Providing GMI students with industrial training opportunities at BOSB facilities, while BOSB staff will undertake specialised upskilling and reskilling training programmes at GMI.
- Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Initiatives – Jointly conducting CSR programmes focused on sustainability, health awareness, and community outreach.
- Educational Access – Offering qualified students from Yayasan Tahfiz Al-Ammar the opportunity to pursue their studies at GMI.
