Kajang, 27 February 2025 – The GMI-Bosch Rexroth CtrlX HaXathon 2025 concluded on a high note, bringing together 40 participants who formed 10 teams from both academia and industry to tackle real-world challenges in this exciting field. Held at the German-Malaysian Institute (GMI), the event showcased innovation in industrial automation and highlighted the growing talent in Malaysia’s automation sector.
Celebrating the Winners
We extend our heartfelt congratulations to the participants and winning teams for completing all application challenges with the fastest cumulative time. The event attracted participants from external institutions and organizations, including University Kuala Lumpur (UniKL), Vocational College, Selangor Human Resource Development Centre (SHRDC), Autoliv Hirotako Sdn Bhd, and Siswa Setia (M) Sdn Bhd.
Tuan Haji Ahmad Solihin bin Mohamed Yusoff (CEO of GMI), Ts. Syed Nizam bin Syed Idris (Head of Mechanical Engineering Department), and Mr. Darren Chan (CEO & Managing Director of Bosch Rexroth Malaysia) were present to witness and celebrate the winners.
In both the academia and industry categories, the winning teams took home RM400 each, along with plaques and certificates. It was a particularly rewarding experience for the academia category winners, a team of Semester 4 GMI students from the Diploma of Mechatronics Engineering programme:

Why the CtrlX HaXathon Matters
