Kajang, 16 July 2025 – The German-Malaysian Institute (GMI) initiated a significant discussion with Sequoia International School and Lavis Sdn Bhd to explore potential education and infrastructural collaborations. The session brought together Dato’ Jack Koh, CEO of Lavis Sdn Bhd and former national badminton player, along with Mr. Ng Thing Seng, Principal of Sequoia International School, and their respective teams.
The discussions identified several promising areas of partnership, beginning with academic pathways through GMI’s established A-Level programme, offering German language classes for Sequoia International School’s students, as well as potential private financing initiatives to upgrade, manage, and operate GMI’s indoor sports complex. These proposed collaborations would create mutual benefits for both institutions while significantly enhancing student development opportunities.


This initial meeting established a productive foundation for aligning institutional strengths and exploring innovative approaches to holistic education. The constructive dialogue marked the beginning of what promises to be a valuable partnership between the organizations.
