Kajang, 28 January 2026 – Thirty students from Madrasah Muallimin Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta, Indonesia, explored the intersection of language and emerging technology at the English x Artificial Intelligence (AI) Bootcamp 2026. The German-Malaysian Institute (GMI) hosted the immersive six-day programme from 20 to 25 January 2026.

Akademi Integrasi Antaranusa organised the bootcamp curriculum, which combined practical English Writing and Speaking modules with hands-on AI Bootcamp sessions.
Participants undertook a guided tour of GMI’s Advanced Technology Centres, accessing industry-standard facilities, including:
• CNC DMG Mori Centre
• Additiv Zentrum (3D Printing Centre)
• MED Gallery
The tour also fostered spontaneous cross-cultural exchange, as the Indonesian students connected with a visiting delegation from Busan National Mechanical Technical High School (BMTHS), South Korea. The South Korean delegation were attending GMI for a separate 10-day specialised edutourism workshop focused on English Communication Skills Workshop via Project-Based Learning.
The bootcamp provided a dynamic platform for cross-border academic collaboration, directly immersing participants in GMI’s Premier Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) ecosystem. GMI looks forward to welcoming future cohorts from Indonesia.
