Kajang, 18 May 2025 – For two exhilarating days, the German-Malaysian Institute (GMI) transformed its campus into a vibrant hub of innovation during Open Day 2025 on 17-18 May 2025. The event attracted over 2,000 visitors from across the Klang Valley and neighbouring states, including Negeri Sembilan, Melaka, Pahang, and Johor.

At the Feisol Hassan-Halle, visitors participated in education consultations with GMI academicians, who offered personalized roadmap sessions to help students align their interests with GMI’s 15 in-demand diploma programmes:

GMI demonstrated its strong industry-focused approach through interactive demonstrations and personalized academic consultations. Visitors explored GMI’s Advanced Technology Centres, where industry-grade equipment brought theoretical knowledge to life.
To enhance the experience, GMI operated shuttle buses and van to transport guests across its sprawling campus, providing access to specialized training facilities:

- A gallery showcasing students’ Final Year Projects innovations
- A Mini Smart Factory demonstrating Industry 4.0 applications to prepare students for real-world industry challenges
- The Additiv Zentrum Lab featuring 3D Printing technologies and products
- Live machining demonstrations in the Metal Stamping and CNC Workshop
- A working Injection Moulding facility displaying plastic manufacturing processes
Electrical Engineering Department:
- A Hybrid & EV Lab featuring a fleet of vehicles including the Tesla Model 3
- Industrial automation demonstrations in the Siemens and Emerson Labs
- An AIOT Lab for Artificial Intelligence and Internet of Things applications
- Data Communication and Sensor technology facilities
- Sustainable Energy and Power Distribution Labs
- An Industrial Robotic and COBOT station
- A Pneumatic Centre of Excellence showcasing pneumatic systems
Computer & Information Department:
- The Cyber Schlachtfeld providing immersive cybersecurity training
- A Cisco Lab offering networking experience
- IoT Software testing demonstrations
- A multimedia cinema featuring creative presentations
