GMI Secures Double Awards at Hari Anugerah Pendidik MARA 2026

Kuala Lumpur, 30 June 2026 – The German-Malaysian Institute (GMI) has achieved remarkable recognition at the prestigious Hari Anugerah Pendidik MARA 2026, securing two major honours that underscore its commitment to educational excellence. 

GMI’s Electrical Engineering Department (EED) received the Best MARA Educational Institution Award (IPMa), whilst Ts. Intan Nadiah binti Abdul Hakim, a lecturer from Computer & Information Department (CID), was presented with the Outstanding MARA Educator Award.

Tuan Haji Ahmad Solihin bin Mohamed Yusoff; Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of GMI, participated alongside senior officials in the recitation of the official pledge during the ceremony.
Mr. Tahrin bin Othman; Head of Electrical Engineering Department (EED) of GMI received the Best MARA Educational Institution Award (IPMa).
Ts. Intan Nadiah binti Abdul Hakim; Lecturer at Computer & Information Department (CID) GMI, received the Outstanding MARA Educator Award.

A Celebration of Educational Excellence

The awards ceremony, held at the Grand Ballroom of Hotel Premiera in Kuala Lumpur, brought together distinguished figures from across Malaysia’s educational landscape. This year’s event, themed “Guru Bitara, Nadi Negara” was officiated by YBhg. Datuk Wira Dr. Asyraf Wajdi bin Dato’ Dusuki; Chairman of Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA).

Senior officials in attendance included YBhg. Datuk Zulfikri bin Osman; Director-General of MARA, YBhg. Dato’ Dr. Roslan bin Mahmood; Deputy Secretary-General (Development) of the Ministry of Rural and Regional Development (KKDW), and Ms Ajar @ Siti Ajar binti Yasin; MARA Council Member. The event also drew management teams from MARA and its subsidiaries, alongside staff from various MARA educational institutions. 

GMI’s Commitment of Excellence

This prestigious recognition highlights MARA’s dedication to honouring educators across the entire education spectrum under MARA, who have made significant contributions to developing Malaysia’s human capital. GMI views this recognition as both an honour and a responsibility to continue elevating educational standards and producing outstanding educators. 

This double victory inspires GMI’s entire community to strengthen its culture of excellence further and develop more high-performing educators capable of shaping Malaysia’s future workforce.

    – This contest is open to secondary school students born between January 1, 2007, and December 31, 2009.
    – Participants must follow at least one of the official social media accounts of the German-Malaysian Institute (GMI) to be eligible (Facebook, Instagram or Tiktok).
  2. Contest Participation
    – To enter the contest, participants must complete the quiz and submit their answers as instructed.
    – Participants are encouraged to create a unique and creative tagline related to GMI to increase their chances of winning.
  3. Agreement to Terms
    – By entering the contest, participants agree to abide by these terms and conditions.
    – Participants must ensure that their submissions comply with all guidelines provided.
  4. Prizes
    – Details of the prizes will be announced at the start of the contest.
    – Winners will be selected based on the accuracy of their quiz answers and creativity of their tagline.
  5. Selection of Winners
    – Winners will be notified through the social media platform where they entered the contest.
    – The decision of the contest organizers is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  6. Privacy
    – Personal information collected during the contest will be used for the purpose of this contest and promotional activities and will be kept confidential.
  7. Liability
    The organizers reserve the right to disqualify any participant who violates these terms and conditions or engages in any fraudulent activity.
  8. Modification of Terms
    The organizers reserve the right to modify these terms and conditions at any time. Participants will be notified of any changes through the official GMI social media accounts.
  9. Acceptance
    By participating in the contest, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these terms and conditions.
