Kajang, 22 July 2026 – A strategic collaboration between academia and industry delivered the NEXTGEN Graduate Development Programme 2026, uniting high-achieving Semester 4 and 5 diploma students for an immersive day of professional growth.
The German-Malaysian Institute (GMI) organised this initiative in partnership with Hong Leong Manufacturing Group (HLMG), reinforcing a shared commitment to bridging technical education with real-world manufacturing demands. Throughout the programme, attendees received a comprehensive walkthrough of the Hong Leong Graduate Development Programme (GDP), gaining valuable clarity on career pathways within the sector.

HLMG contributed extensive industry expertise to the event, with representatives Mohammad Ikhwan bin Khairun Nadzim, Nur Syahirah Hannah binti Izham Akmal, and Stephanie Chu charting their professional journeys and delivering actionable advice. Their engaging sessions encouraged students to think strategically about their career trajectories and to adopt lifelong learning as a fundamental pillar of professional development.
This initiative represents a central pillar of GMI’s mission to empower future‑ready TVET graduates through sustained industry engagement. By proactively aligning our academic curricular with employer expectations, GMI continues to strengthen Malaysia’s technical talent pipeline and meet the evolving needs of the manufacturing sector.
GMI extends its sincere appreciation to Hong Leong Manufacturing Group for their steadfast partnership and commitment to nurturing the next generation of technical leaders. We believe this collaboration promises a lasting, positive impact on both our students and Malaysia’s wider industrial landscape.
