Kajang, 26 August 2025 – Hosting a delegation from the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organisation (SEAMEO) and the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), the German-Malaysian Institute (GMI) facilitated a day of knowledge exchange on technical and vocational education for 18 representatives.
The delegation comprised representatives from SEAMEO units in Malaysia, Cambodia, Thailand, and Brunei, alongside colleagues from the Design Thinkers Academy Singapore, and GIZ offices in Indonesia, Germany, Vietnam, and Malaysia.

The visit began with an overview of GMI’s mission to provide high-quality, industry-led training. Delegates then embarked on a comprehensive tour of the Mechanical Engineering Department (MED), Electrical Engineering Department (EED), and Computer & Information Department (CID). They observed hands-on learning in Advanced Technology Centres, gaining first-hand insight into the institute’s practical teaching methodologies.
Delegates from across Southeast Asia and Germany explore GMI’s Advanced Technology Centres, including the Smart Mini Factory, Microcontroller Lab and Cyber Battlefield Centre.
During the productive exchange session, GMI Students and staff interact with the international SEAMEO and GIZ representatives.
This engagement provided valuable perspectives on how GMI nurtures talent and empowers learners, reinforcing its commitment to excellence in technical and vocational training. GMI remains dedicated to delivering the highest standards of education to our students and the wider community.
