Kajang, 16 October 2025 – A delegation from the Ministry of Education Brunei Darussalam and Politeknik Brunei visited the German-Malaysian Institute (GMI), with a focus on advancing lifelong learning through innovative short-term course programmes.

The delegation, led by YM Dr. Haji Azman bin Ahmad, Permanent Secretary (Higher Education), and YM Pengiran Dr. Saiful Baharin bin Pangiran Haji Duraman, Acting Director of Politeknik Brunei, undertook a comprehensive tour of GMI’s Advanced Technology Centres. The visit highlighted GMI’s industry-aligned training infrastructure, which includes the:
- Cyber Schlachtfeld (Cyber Battlefield Centre)
- Festo Certified Training Centre
- Hybrid and EV System Lab
- Additiv Zentrum (3D Printing Centre)
The engagement underscored a shared vision to address evolving industry demands by empowering individuals with continuous skills development. GMI offers extensive suite of over 100 specialised short-term courses year-round, designed specifically for upskilling and reskilling professionals across various technical fields.
GMI aims to create agile pathways for lifelong learning, providing students and professionals across the region with greater access to specialised technical education and impactful upskilling opportunities.
