Hanoi, 19 May 2025 – Education Malaysia Ho Chi Minh City facilitated a strategic meeting between the German-Malaysian Institute (GMI) and FPT High School Hanoi to explore collaboration opportunities in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) and engineering education.

Ms. Salwani binti Abu Bakar, Head of Business Development Department at GMI, and Ts. Dahlia Asyiqin binti Ahmad Zainaddin, Head of Computer System Informatics Section, represented the institute. The discussion centered on introducing GMI’s TVET and engineering programmes to Grade 11 and 12 students, encouraging Vietnamese students to pursue technical education in Malaysia.

This initiative aligns Education Malaysia’s mission to establish Malaysia as a regional leader in higher education and training, in line with the Malaysia Education Blueprint 2015–2025.
During the engagement, GMI conducted a seminar for FPT students, providing insights into its programmes and international study opportunities. The collaboration is timely, supporting Vietnam’s national education policy to direct 50–55% of high school students into the TVET system by 2030, a move that underscores the increasing demand for industry-relevant, globally recognized technical training.
This partnership marks a significant step in strengthening GMI’s international presence while contributing to regional workforce development through education.
