Melaka, 5 September 2025 – GMI and Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM) have solidified the strategic partnership through a signed Memorandum of Agreement (MoA). The MoA exchange ceremony served as the central event of the Gala Appreciation Night for UTeM Strategic Partners 2025, held at the Casa Del Rio Hotel in Melaka.

This strategic collaboration formally designates the GMI as an off-campus learning centre for UTeM’s Bachelor of Electrical Engineering Technology with Honours (BELT) programme. The partnership is designed to strengthen academic excellence, accelerate applied research, and foster technological innovation within Malaysia’s higher education sector.
The event attracted a distinguished gathering of state officials and academic leaders. His Excellency Tun Seri Setia Dr. Haji Mohd Ali bin Mohd Rustam, the Governor of Melaka and Chancellor of UTeM, attended as the guest of honour alongside Toh Puan Datuk Wira (Dr.) Hajah Asmah binti Ab Rahman.
Other notable attendees included YB Datuk Rahmad Mariman, State Executive Councillor for Education, Higher Learning, and Religious Affairs, who represented the Chief Minister of Melaka; YB Datuk Wira Azhar bin Haji Arshad, the State Secretary of Melaka; and YBhg. Dato’ Husaini bin Omar, Chairman of the UTeM Board of Directors.
