Kajang, 8 October 2025 – In conjunction with Hari Sukan Negara, the German-Malaysian Institute (GMI) successfully hosted the GMI Fun Run 2025 on its campus. The event energised 402 staff and students, who participated in a unique pyjama, sarong, and colourful theme, creating a vibrant and communal atmosphere.

This initiative aimed to strengthen community bonds, promote a healthy lifestyle, and foster a string sense of togetherness. It provided a valuable opportunity for staff and students to connect outside their daily academic and professional routines, reinforcing the teamwork and collective spirit central to GMI’s culture.
Complementing the main run, the event featured a diverse range of health and wellness activities. These included a blood donation, general and mental health screenings, and a dedicated healing zone. The programme also encompassed the Program Sihat Tanpa AIDS Untuk Remaja (PROSTAR) and the spiritual talk show, “Mend Your Soul: The Art of Self-Care in Islam”.
The event supports the national agenda to embed sports within the community and directly aligns with the Malaysia MADANI framework’s focus on holistic well-being. As an educational institution under MARA, GMI reinforces its commitment to balancing academic excellence with the physical, mental, and social health of its community.
At GMI, we believe that activities like the Fun Run serve not only as recreational events but also as a vital platform for building community spirit, raising awareness about physical fitness, and fostering a positive campus environment.
