Indonesia, 7 November 2025 – Cyber Security students from the German-Malaysian Institute (GMI) proudly represented Malaysia at the recent Modern Education and Technology Advancements in Research and Innovation for Sustainable Excellence (META-Rise) 2025 international competition in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The team delivered an exceptional performance, earning multiple high-level accolades.
Under the supervision of Mr. Muhammad Shafiq bin Othman, Technical Training Officer from the Computer & Information Department, students presented the Digital Footprint Analyzer System, a project which deservedly won a Gold Medal.
Meanwhile the second team, guided by Ms. Nur Dayana binti Ahmad Daud, Technical Training Officer from the Computer & Information Department, achieved outstanding success with their project on Secure Web Authentication for Cloud Data Protection. Their work earned a Gold Medal, the Higher Institution Student Award, the T5 System & Web Development Award, and the Special Award from Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP).
These celebrated achievements underscore the calibre and innovative spirit of GMI’s Cyber Security programme. The students’ dedication brings significant honour to the institute and reinforces its position on the international stage.
