Kajang, 23 February 2026 – Aiming to bridge the gap between academic excellence and industrial demand, a delegation from Vale Malaysia Minerals Sdn Bhd visited the German-Malaysian Institute (GMI). Ms Musliha Yusof and Ms Priyanka Thiruchelvam from the Corporate Affairs and Sustainability division led the delegation from Vale Malaysia Minerals.

This strategic engagement focused on two critical objectives. Firstly, it seeks to champion youth development in Manjung, Perak, by creating clear pathways into Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) at GMI. Secondly, the collaboration will explore comprehensive upskilling and reskilling frameworks designed to equip Vale’s existing workforce with the competencies required to navigate the rapidly evolving industrial landscape.
To demonstrate its advanced capabilities in TVET, GMI hosted the delegation for an extensive tour to a several of its 22 Advanced Technology Centres:
- Cyber Schlachtfeld (Cyber Battlefield Centre)
- Festo Pneumatics and Hydraulics Lab
- KUKA Industrial Robot Training Centre
- Hybrid and EV System Lab
- Smart Mini Factory
- Additiv Zentrum (3D Printing Centre)
GMI looks forward to formalising this collaboration with Vale Malaysia Minerals. By combining Vale’s industry insights with GMI’s industrial grade training infrastructure, this partnership is poised to deliver tangible outcomes: empowering students with practical learning experience, enhancing access to technical education, and preparing both aspiring technicians and seasoned professionals for the future of work in the technology sector.
