Kajang, 6 July 2026 – In a move to align industry expertise with technical education, the German-Malaysian Institute (GMI) welcomed a delegation led by YBhg. Datuk Ginie Lim, Chief Executive Officer of Invest Melaka Berhad, alongside Mr. Li Gong, Vice General Manager of Lianjia Technology (Suzhou) Co. Ltd; and Ms. Nurmaisarah binti Yusof, Human Resources Executive at Linka Tech (Melaka) Sdn Bhd.

Meeting Industy Demands Through Practical Training
The meeting centred on establishing a clear pathway for student internships and graduate employment. Beyond placements, the discussion expanded to include opportunities for short-term upskilling and reskilling courses for working professionals at GMI.
These initiatives aim to equip students and working professionals with the advanced skills required by the technology and manufacturing sectors, helping Malaysia’s workforce remain competitive in a dynamic global market. This potential collaboration aims to build a sustainable network for technical talent development across the region.
As a part of the visit, the delegates toured several of GMI’s 22 Advanced Technology Centres, including:
- CNC DMG Mori Lab
- Zeiss Quality Excellence Centre
- Mechanical Engineering Department Gallery
- Additiv Zentrum (3D Printing Centre)
Looking ahead, GMI will translate these discussions into actionable programmes and strategic initiatives, reinforcing its institutional commitment to raising the standard of technical education and professional development in Malaysia.
