On 10 September 2024, in Kuala Lumpur, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the German-Malaysian Institute (GMI), Tn. Hj. Ahmad Solihin bin Mohamed Yusoff, accompanied by the Head of Strategic Planning Section, Dr. Nurhafiza binti Kamaruddin, attended the official launch event for Malaysian admissions to the new Adelaide University located in Adelaide, Australia.
The university, formed from the merger of the University of Adelaide and the University of South Australia, is building on the rich legacies of its founding institutions to deliver outstanding education and employability prospects for Malaysian students.
As a member of Australia’s prestigious ‘Group of Eight’ (Go8) research-intensive universities, Adelaide University will offer a transformative learning experience to students around the world in an idyllic Australian setting.
Drawing on the world-class research and global partnerships of its founding institutions, Adelaide University plans to deliver Australia’s most accessible, contemporary and future-focused curriculum.

The Malaysian delegation is led by University of Adelaide vice-president and deputy vice-chancellor (external engagement) Professor Jessica Gallagher, who is also the university’s market and partner engagement lead and the University of South Australia chancellor John Hill.
