BOMBA Malaysia Completes EV Awareness Training to Enhance Safety Protocols

Kajang, 9 April 2025 – The Electric Vehicle (EV) Training Awareness Course was successfully conducted in collaboration with the Fire and Safety Department (BOMBA) of Malaysia. This initiative followed a recent visit in March and marked the first EV training for BOMBA under the Short-Term Courses, which are coordinated by the Business Development team to address EV safety and emergency response needs. A total of 22 distinguished officers and enforcement personnel from BOMBA, representing various states across the country, participated in this training session.

The collaboration highlights the importance of equipping frontliners with the latest knowledge and hands-on exposure to EV technologies, including safety standards, high-voltage systems, risk management, and emergency handling procedures involving electric vehicles.

Participants explored and gained insights into the Tesla Model 3, the latest addition to the Autotronics programme

The training emphasized practical applications and safety measures, with the skills to manage challenges associated with EV technology effectively. Participants gained comprehensive insights into battery electric vehicle (BEV) safety protocols, electric vehicle charging systems, maintenance and handling procedures, safety designs, and mechanisms. They also learned about advanced thermal management and battery health monitoring, ensuring safe and effective practices.

Mr. Fazli bin Mohamad, Senior Technical Training Officer at the Electrical Engineering Department, utilized a simulator to explain the technical aspects and safety features of the Hyundai Kona Electric Vehicle platform

The closing ceremony was officiated by Senior Assistant Fire Commissioner (PKPjB) Tuan Rozihan Anwar bin Mamat, who commended the initiative and expressed hope for more such programmes in the future. He highlighted the importance of continuous education in adapting to emerging technologies. The event concluded on a high note as the Chief Executive Officer presented training certificates to all participants.
