Kajang, 30 September 2025 – The fire and Safety Department of Malaysia (BOMBA) has successfully concluded a second and third series of specialised Short-Term Courses (STC) at GMI, focusing on Electric Vehicle (EV) battery safety and emergency response. A total of xxx distinguished officers and enforcement personnel from various states across the country attended these intensive sessions.



This latest series followed a successful first cohort in April 2025, with the second and third cohorts training from 23-24 September 2025 and 29-30 September 2025, respectively. The programme equipped participants with critical, hands-on skills to manage the unique challenges by EV technology.
The training emphasised practical applications and safety measures. Participant gained comprehensive insights into Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) safety protocols, vehicle safety designs, and built-in safety mechanisms. The curriculum also covered advanced topics, including thermal management systems and battery health monitoring, to ensure officers can implement safe and effective emergency practices.
