Director General of MARA Inspires GMI Staff with Insightful Speech

KAJANG, 14 February 2025 – GMI extends its heartfelt gratitude to YBhg. Dato’ Sri Azhar bin Abdul Manaf, Director General of the Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA), for graced the campus and delivered an inspiring  speech to GMI staff. 

The event, Majlis Amanat Ketua Pengarah MARA Bersama Warga Kerja GMI, marked the official launch of the GMI Intellectual and Inspirational Talk (GMI³T), a flagship initiative aimed at empower the GMI community by featuring prominent leaders and industry experts.

YBhg. Dato’ Sri Azhar bin Abdul Manaf, Director General of MARA, engaging with GMI staff during an insightful session.

During his speech, YBhg. Dato’ Sri Azhar celebrated GMI’s remarkable achievements in 2024, including:

  1. A 64% increase in student enrolment.
  2. A 30% improvement in revenue, showcasing strong financial growth.
  3. A 207% surge in profit, underscoring operational excellence and strategic management.
  4. Approval from the Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE) to upgrade GMI as Malaysia’s first University College of Applied Science, a testament to its academic excellence.
  5. An outstanding 98.8% employability rate for graduates, highlighting GMI’s commitment to producing industry-ready talent.
  6. The successful launch of the German Language Programme for the public, which garnered significant interest, particularly from ASEAN countries.
  7. The Anti-Bribery Management System (ABMS) accreditation by NIOSH, reinforcing GMI’s dedication to integrity and transparency.

These accomplishments demonstrate GMI’s unwavering commitment to strive for educational excellence. YBhg. Dato’ Sri Azhar also emphasized the importance of integrity, transformative leadership, and the responsibility of leaders to inspire and guide the organization toward its goals.

    – This contest is open to secondary school students born between January 1, 2007, and December 31, 2009.
    – Participants must follow at least one of the official social media accounts of the German-Malaysian Institute (GMI) to be eligible (Facebook, Instagram or Tiktok).
  2. Contest Participation
    – To enter the contest, participants must complete the quiz and submit their answers as instructed.
    – Participants are encouraged to create a unique and creative tagline related to GMI to increase their chances of winning.
  3. Agreement to Terms
    – By entering the contest, participants agree to abide by these terms and conditions.
    – Participants must ensure that their submissions comply with all guidelines provided.
  4. Prizes
    – Details of the prizes will be announced at the start of the contest.
    – Winners will be selected based on the accuracy of their quiz answers and creativity of their tagline.
  5. Selection of Winners
    – Winners will be notified through the social media platform where they entered the contest.
    – The decision of the contest organizers is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  6. Privacy
    – Personal information collected during the contest will be used for the purpose of this contest and promotional activities and will be kept confidential.
  7. Liability
    The organizers reserve the right to disqualify any participant who violates these terms and conditions or engages in any fraudulent activity.
  8. Modification of Terms
    The organizers reserve the right to modify these terms and conditions at any time. Participants will be notified of any changes through the official GMI social media accounts.
  9. Acceptance
    By participating in the contest, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these terms and conditions.
