Kuala Lumpur, 7 January 2025 – The German-Malaysian Institute (GMI) proudly extends its support to Penerbit dan Percetakan Dakwah Islamiah Malaysia Sdn Bhd (PEDIM) under their “Back to School 2025” programme which aims to establish classroom libraries in Sekolah Rendah Agama, Sekolah Menengah Agama, and KAFA schools across Malaysia. This initiative reflects GMI’s commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and promoting knowledge within the Islamic community.
Enhancing Education with Classroom Libraries
The classroom libraries will be equipped with bookshelves and a wide range of educational materials to boost literacy and Quranic understanding. These resources will not only improve academic performance but also inspire a passion for reading and spiritual growth. The initiative emphasizes Iqra’, which means “read” in Arabic, fostering knowledge and learning among students.
Supporting Global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
This initiative supports two key Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):
- SDG 4: Quality Education – Advocating for inclusive and equitable learning for all.
- SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals – Strengthening educational collaboration to achieve impactful outcomes.
GMI’s Commitment to Transformative Education
Through this initiative, GMI continues to empower students to embrace knowledge, explore new ideas, contribute positively to their communities, and ensure that every student has access to the resources needed for success.
