Kuala Lumpur, 27 May 2025 – The German-Malaysian Institute (GMI) proudly celebrates a dual triumph at the Hari Anugerah Pendidik Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA) 2025, showcasing its commitment to excellence in vocational and technical education. Mr. Muhammad Hafiz bin Adnan, Principal Technical Training Officer in the Mechanical Engineering Department, received the prestigious Anugerah Pendidik Cemerlang MARA. Concurrently, GMI’s Computer and Information Department (CID) earned the coveted Anugerah Institusi Pendidikan MARA (IPMA) Terbaik, solidifying the institute’s leadership in Malaysian Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET).
The Anugerah Pendidik Cemerlang MARA recognizes Mr. Muhammad Hafiz’s 17 years of outstanding contribution and dedicated service. He consistently improves teaching practices for Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Machining, Programming, and CAD CAM courses. Mr. Hafiz also spearheads substantial research and actively contributes to community service and co-curricular activities.

Mr. Hafiz’s extensive expertise extends beyond his teaching role. In 2024, he notably secured a Gold Medal in the Automotive and Transportation Innovation category at the KKDW Education Institute TVET Expo. His groundbreaking work on the Aerospace Blisk, demonstrates his expertise in advanced manufacturing and pushing engineering boundaries.
This follows his earlier achievement of a Bronze Medal in the CNC Milling category at the WorldSkills Malaysia Trainers (WSMP) competition, further solidifying his technical prowess. Additionally, Mr. Hafiz contributes significantly to curriculum development as a vital panel member for the Sistem Latihan Dual Nasional (SLDN) / Akademi Dalam Industri (ADI) for CNC Machining programmes, ensuring GMI’s courses remain industry-relevant and aligned with the latest technological advancements.
Beyond his technical and academic contributions, Mr. Hafiz also champions GMI’s core values, having been appointed the Anti-Bribery Management System (ABMS) Ambassador for the 2023-2026 term. This pivotal role reflects GMI’s trust in his dedication to upholding transparency and ethical standards.
Meanwhile, the Anugerah IPMA Terbaik recognizes CID’s exceptional overall performance across students, educators, and the department itself, emphasizing balanced growth in academics and co-curricular activities. CID proactively drives curriculum development, delivers intensive hands-on training, and initiates career-focused programmes.

The department leverages valuable industry insights and modern teaching methods to empower GMI students. This significant accolade strengthens GMI’s mission to lead innovation and excellence in Malaysia’s TVET landscape, clearly showcasing CID’s crucial role in producing highly skilled professionals ready to meet global challenges.
YB Datuk Hajah Rubiah binti Haji Wang, Deputy Minister of Rural and Regional Development (KKDW), officiated the Hari Anugerah Pendidik MARA 2025 ceremony, which celebrated 9,987 educators from IPMA. This significant event recognized their invaluable contributions to human capital development, spanning from MRSM secondary schools through to higher education. The ceremony’s theme, “Guru Pemacu Reformasi Pendidikan”, underscored their vital role in shaping the nation’s future.
