09 August 2024, Kajang – On 9 August 2024, the German-Malaysian Institute (GMI) hosted a significant event combining spiritual reflection and organizational updates in a vibrant Town Hall Meeting. The event,attended by the CEO, management, staff, and students, commenced at 9:30 am with a heartfelt Majlis Bacaan Yassin & Kesyukuran. This session was guided by Al-Fadhil Ustaz Husni Muhammad Harun, offering a moment of reflection and gratitude.
Following the spiritual segment, Tn Hj Ahmad Solihin Mohamed Yusoff, the CEO of GMI, delivered the welcoming speech. He provided an insightful briefing on GMI’s past achievements, current status, and future developments. One of the key highlights was the ongoing progress towards elevating GMI to University College of Applied Science (UcAS) status, reflecting the institute’s commitment to expanding its academic horizons.
A particularly proud moment for GMI was the recognition of Ariana Nur Dania Binti Mohamad Zairi, GMI student of Diploma in Engineering Technology (Product Design & Manufacturing), Mechanical Engineering Department, who recently represented Malaysia in Archery at the Paris Olympic Games 2024. Her remarkable achievement was celebrated with a certificate and a cash award of RM1000, presented by the CEO himself. The occasion was immortalized with a group photo, capturing the pride and unity of the GMI community.
The event continued with a presentation by the CEO, who shared the latest updates on GMI’s developments and strategic direction.
