Penang, 8 April 2026 – A focused short-term course on troubleshooting for injection moulding brought together 23 industry professionals at BizLink Technology (S.E.A) Sdn. Bhd. in Butterworth, Penang. The German-Malaysian Institute (GMI) organised and delivered this three-day training from 6 to 8 April 2026.
Two HRD Corp Accredited Trainers from GMI facilitated the programme: Mr. Raja Azlan bin Raja Abdullah, Technical Training Officer, and Mr. Mohamad Faezal bin Omar Baki, Senior Technical Training Officer. Participants from various departments attended the course to strengthen their technical knowledge and industry competencies.
The training focused on identifying root causes of moulding defects using the 4M & 1E framework – Man, Machine, Method, Material, and Environment. After identifying these causes, participants learned a scientific and structured approach to resolve and minimise defects effectively.
Analytical tools such as the Ishikawa diagram and Why-Why analysis helped participants determine root causes with greater precision. This method provided deeper insights into the underlying factors contributing to each defect.
The course also covered proper techniques for preparing defect analysis reports and action plans for top management presentations. This enhanced participants’ capabilities not only in technical troubleshooting but also in analytical thinking, problem-solving, and professional reporting.
Interactive group discussions and practical sessions focused on real production challenges related to moulding defects. These activities enabled participants to develop effective, real-world problem-solving strategies.
Looking ahead, GMI remains committed to supporting industry partners through high-quality technical training and continuous professional development programmes.
