Introduction

In the advent of IR4.0, highly skilled workforce is highly demanded in all aspects of todays’ manufacturing and service industry involving industrial robots. GMI Industrial Robotics Technology Centre provides hands-on training in robot programming and simulation accompanied with real world industrial application in each robotic workcell.

Objectives

The objective of this center is to provide comprehensive training on theoretical and practical aspects of industrial robotics with online (teaching pendant), and offline programming (simulation). The participants will also be involved in the programming of industrial robotics for various industry application.

  • Floor mounted 6 degrees of freedom articulated arm robot with 16kg payload
    • Enclosed in safety fencing
    • Training workcell (training table, multiple tools, nylon cube workpiece & magazine for workpiece)
    • Industrial application – automotive component spray booth

  • Floor mounted 6 degrees of freedom articulated arm robot with 16kg payload
    • Enclosed in safety fencing
    • Training workcell (training table, multiple tools, nylon cube workpiece & magazine for workpiece)
    • Industrial application – automotive component spot welding and arc welding

  • Floor mounted 6 degrees of freedom articulated arm robot with 6kg payload
    • Enclosed in mobile modular structure.
    • Training workcell (training table, multiple tools, nylon cube workpiece & magazine for workpiece)
    • Industrial application – workpiece deburring

  • Ceiling mounted 6 degrees of freedom articulated arm robot with 6 kg payload
    • Enclosed in mobile modular structure
    • Training workcell (training table, multiple tools, nylon cube workpiece & magazine for workpiece)
    • Industrial application – pick & place, sorting with vision system

Which allows robot’s program creation and validation, having the following capabilities:
• Designing layouts
• Parametric modelling from parts library
• Reachability check and collision detection
• Cycle time analysis
• Generating animation for presentation and documentation

Products/Services

We can provide participants with the fundamental knowledge of robotics to be used in the various industrial applications. Participants would also be exposed practically to the Industrial Robots and its programming software.

Offline robot programming is the upfront method in optimizing the production. Participants would also be exposed to the usage of simulation software in the stage of workcell modelling through simulation of robot programming.
